Tanya has been an active advocate in dealing with senior issues, volunteers in many different areas of the community


Tanya Sterling

Tanya is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Professional Consultant on Aging, a Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist, and a Certified Power Coach with certificates in ElderLaw, Collaborative Dispute & Resolution, and Negotiation. With over 17 years of experience in tax accounting, financial reporting, strategic financial planning, facilitation, conflict management, and coaching for individuals as well as businesses; all combine to make Tanya a strong financial resource to advise, educate, and coach clients to understand and overcome financial roadblocks.

Tanya has been an active advocate in dealing with youth at risk, women, and seniors. She volunteers in many different areas of the community and has been a member and advocate of several local groups including the following:

  • Victoria Harbourside Rotary Club (Past-Chairs of the Boys and Girls Club, Community Funding Committee, and Board Membership Director)
  • BC Coalition to Eliminate Senior Abuse
  • Co-Chair for the Victoria Chapter of the Minerva Foundation Follow A Leader Program
  • Board member for the Capital Regional District Arts Advisory Council
  • Mentor for University of Victoria Business students
  • Youth at Risk and the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre

In recognition for her work in the community and commitment to her clients’ needs, Tanya won the “Top Visionaries Under 40″ Award, was selected and recognized for “CA Young Achievement Award” from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, recognized as Douglas Magazine’s “Top 10 to Watch”, awarded a Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary International and attained a Rotary Governor’s Award. Tanya has been featured in BC Business Magazine, actively speaks and teaches in the community, writes various articles, and has been interviewed in the Times Colonist, Douglas Magazine, FOCUS, the Business Examiner, as well as various other magazines. Tanya was also a recent finalist for the Leadership Victoria Coaching and Mentorship Award and recently featured in Boulevard Magazine’s March 2015 “Women Who Make a Difference”.


Whitey Mitchell

A Manager and Enrolled Agent at Sterling Financial Accounting Services, Whitey focuses on Canadian trusts and estates, small businesses, personal tax preparation and issue resolution, as well as non-resident filings and is licensed to represent foreign individuals before the IRS (Enrolled Agent).

Whitey received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science at West Virginia Wesleyan College, as well as having studied extensively in Theatre Arts. His passion for numbers drove him to pursue a CPA designation and he continues to seek higher education on an on-going basis.

Whitey’s professional background is extensive and varied, including banking and financial services management, property management, political campaigning, and research. Born and raised in New Hampshire, he has also lived and worked in West Virginia, New Brunswick, and British Columbia. Whitey is proud to be active in his community serving as Treasurer of the artsREACH Society as well as involvement with local community theatre groups near and far. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle, participating in outdoor activities, and travel. He loves to learn and relishes a good challenge.

Whitey used to be a firefighter and really wants to be one again. As a child, his dream job was to be the person who rides on the back of a garbage truck.


Rachelle Woykin

Rachelle is a Staff Accountant and Administrative Assistant at Sterling Financial Accounting Services. Rachelle received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Microbiology from the University of Victoria, recently completed a Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting from Camosun College and is currently pursuing her CPA designation.

In her spare time, Rachelle enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, and exploring the island with family and friends.
